Nestled in the glens of Table Mountain, The Roundhouse Restaurant is steeped in a rich history as old as the Cape itself. It is this very location that led to the building?s creation as a guardhouse in 1786 by the Dutch East India Company. With its sweeping views of Camps Bay and the expansive Atlantic, it was ideally situated to safeguard the Cape of Storms from attack. Chefs PJ Vadas and Eric Bulpitt, both schooled in classic European cuisine, offer contemporary dishes that combine this European background with a distinctly South African character. They are constantly looking to revive forgotten South African ingredients and recipes and incorporate them into the menu in a modern way.The sourcing of ingredients is an extension of this locality ? by actively sourcing the best artisanal produce that local producers have to offer, and using these ingredients in a style that is true to nature.

The Private dining Room
The Private Dining Room captures 300 years of nostalgia and history. With an exposed stone wall forming the backdrop of one of the most luxurious rare spirit and wine collections in the country, this room lends itself to an ambience of warmth, romance and luxury. The Somerset Room
The Somerset Room has delighted guests for over 250 years. With 42 seats and a panoramic view that rivals the best in the world, Guests are invited to indulge in the majesty of the 12 Apostles, Clifton and Camps Bay. A unique and detailed setting, the Somerset Room is the perfect place to share in great company, beautiful cuisine, and the joys of life.

The Oval Room
The Oval Room is a designer's delight - a simply fascinating space. The room is fully customizable - whether Guests would like to enjoy a special venue for bigger parties, or revel in a more intimate space for smaller groups, the Oval Room can be tailored to these needs. With its original fireplace, lowered roof and exquisite wall panels, this room will ensure the most personal, charming experience.

Rumbullion (Closed in Winter)
"Rumbullion" is the name for the terraces at The Roundhouse. "Rumbullion" is a 17th Century term meaning "a riotous good time", and the terraces seek to recreate this philosophy with a focus of people sharing great food, fine wines and sipping on classic forgotten cocktails in the most sensational outdoor setting. Nestled amongst 300-year-old pomegranate trees and beautifully landscaped gardens, Guests will enjoy whole loaves of freshly-baked bread, decanters of wine, and sumptuous whole roasts - creating only the most vivid, fun-filled and enduring memories.
